Flashdance the musical
Flashdance the musical will explode onto the stage at London’s West End in April next year and it is expected to be one of the most significant releases of the whole year.
Dancer by night and welder by day, Alex (only eighteen years old) has a dream of getting a place at a top dance academy called Shipley Dance. Based one the famous movie, Flashdance the musical is unique in the way it portrays love at against all odds.
Flashdance the musical includes several top hits like Manhunt, Maniac, Gloria and I Love Rock and Roll along with the title track Flashdance, What a Feeling. Apart from these fourteen other songs were written specifically for this upcoming musical.
The choreography of Flashdance the musical is by Arlene Phillips, who is a well known television and theatre personality of the fame of We Will Rock You, So You Think You Can Dance and more recently the BBC’s hit, Strictly Come Dancing.
When Flashdance the musical starts early next year at the Shaftesbury Theatre, it will include cast members like Matt Willis, who was in Busted, I’m a Celebrity, Get me out of here and Victoria Hamilton-Barritt, who has starred in Grease as well as the UK tour of Flashdance the musical itself.
